The ports of Savona and Vado Ligure together form the port of Savona Vado, which is located in Liguria (Italy’s North-West), in the Northernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea, close to the main European markets.

Savona Vado, together with the neighbouring harbours of Genoa and La Spezia, form Ligurian Ports: one of the main port system in the Mediterranean sea and an important trade channel for Southern Europe’s economy.

The port of Savona Vado received more than 2000 ships in 2008, handling a total of 15,6 million tons of cargo and over 250,000 Teus.

Passenger traffic exceeded 1,1 millions, with more than 770,000 cruise pax

  • Natural deep waters, with draught over 20 m, fitting even the newest ultra large ships

  • Rail shuttle services between the port and the hinterland through dedicated locos owned by the Port Authority
